En septembre 2018, avec 148 752 immatriculations, le marché français des voitures particulières neuves est en baisse de 12,8 % en données brutes et de 8,5 % à nombre de jours ouvrés comparable par rapport à septembre 2017 (20 jours en septembre 2018 et 21 jours en septembre 2017).
